The iAnalyze software solution has been developed specifically for opticians, private practitioners and other health professionals who, with the software, conduct a thorough analysis of community images for the prevention of diabetes, AMD and other diseases that may end with impaired vision, blindness or worst case death.
iAnalyze collaborates with Health Intelligence, which has clinics in several locations in England, they screen, analyze and diagnose over 1,500,000 Diabetics in England. Health Intelligence uses Physical Degrees to analyze the images.
The advantage of using human graders to perform the screenings is that all images are reviewed according to the same standard and should there be any doubt, the image will be evaluated by additional staff.

Facts about Diabetes:
Diabetes is a rapidly increasing disease, and numbers show that the number of type 2 diabetics rises by 20% by 2020, unfortunately the number of educated ophthalmologists is increasing by only about 2%.
Diabetes can cause blindness if it is not detected on time.
The cost of a new-blind Diabetic in the first year costs the state at least 1 million kroner.
It is estimated that about 200,000 Danes go around with type 2 diabetes without knowing that, and that up to 750,000 Danes are estimated to have precursors for type 2 diabetes. Hereby, the diabetes association estimates that 30-40% of pre-diabetics will develop type 2 diabetes within 3-5 years.
By 2025, up to 600,000 Danes will have diabetes. This is a conservative estimate, as it does not include the good 200,000 that are currently not diagnosed. (Source: www.diabetes.dk).
It cost the hospitals. 7 billion DKK a year to treat diabetics. Diabetes costs the Danish society about 86 million. DKK a day. There is thus a great potential for initiating early detection, prevention and treatment (Source: www.diabetes.dk).
Facts about AMD:
AMD is a serious disease 2/3 of the Danes who are declared blind in the Danish Blind Society, AMD has the cause of disease. Thus, in Denmark and in the western world, the disease is the most common cause of blindness and weakness. Ca. 12% of people over 60 years of age are affected by AMD. In the age group over 75, the figure has risen to 40%.
A distinction is made between wet and dry AMD. 85% of AMD patients have the dry form of AMD, which can not be treated with laser or pharmacological. In this group, however, one can help many people with strong optics. (source Niels Vesti Nielsen.)
